In the Hindu religion, rats represent foresight and prudence, and white ones are very lucky. Mooshika is the name of the steed that Ganesh - god of new beginnings and of fire, knowledge, wisdom, literature and worldly success - rides upon. The steed, of course, is the intelligent and gentle rat. “Mooshika” means “little hoarder.”


Dans la religion hindoue, les rats représentent la prévoyance et la prudence, les blancs étant considérés comme particulièrement chanceux. Mooshika est le nom du destrier de Ganesh – dieu des nouveaux départs, du feu, du savoir, de la sagesse, de la littérature et du succès matériel. Ce destrier, bien sûr, est un digne représentant de la race douce et intelligente des rats. Le nom ''Mooshika'' signifie petit amasseur.

Baby rats in Montreal need homes too…

An adult male, about 5-6 months old, All gray
An adult female, about the same age, mostly white with a gray head

All the babies are about 2-3 months old:
- Four males, three gray with white tummy, and one with a white body and a gray head.
- Three females, two have a white body and gray head and one is albino.

The adults are pet store rats that were inaccurately sexed, which is why there are babies.

Rat homes and transportatation needed from New Brunswick

Angel's Heart Rat Rescue has over 100 rats and as this is too many, the rat community is organizing ways to get as many rats out as possible and into permanent homes, foster homes, and willing shelters where they will be played with, socialized, and adopted. Please help contribute gas money, food and supplies money, and volunteer assistance - every little bit counts! E-mail me for details.
